Retrospect 2017

The days are getting shorter and the last warming rays of sunlight meet our faces as we find shelter in our comfy homes and offices. What a perfect time to look back at last summer’s sunny „Feel-Festival“-weekend at Bergheider See and pass review. This is our summary.
Feel-Festival is annually growing and poses unexpected challenges every time. Our top priority is to create a peaceful, exciting and inspiring festival. To live up to your, as well as our own expectations, we put all our efforts, time and resources in creating this unique project.
Electronic sounds on 25 stages between the dunes and forest at Bergheider See liberated the souls of thousands of particpants. The diverse program at our main stages was curated to prove, again, that the Feel Festival is more than just techno.
The opening act performed Thursday on steal„Takraf“-Stage, right under the giant F60 conveyor bridge. In the course of five days friends of indie, rock and electro-pop had the opportunity to see bands like Milliarden, Mount Kimbie, Howling, Von Wegen Lisbeth or Mighty Oaks. Milky Chance flooded the pit with raving fans as our closing act. The „Zentrifuge“ was the place to be for smaller, but not lesser acts, like Lewis Capaldi, ÄTNA, Neufundland and Frère. Woman from Cologne was our promising newcomer, who magically filled the tent with their own exceptional sound. A mix of pop, soul, psychedelic and electronics. This kind of diversity of acts from unspecific genres will also be our goal for next year’s line up.

But the Feel-Festival is and will stay the fertile ground to unify fans of electronic music. Endless nights and the sound of deep basses open the door to into a parallel universe. Protected by the trees shadows Niconé, Ron Flatter, Adana Twins, Lexer and many other known DJs and newcomers shook the swampy floor of the „Tiefe Moor“.

Not only the big, but also the small floors provided vibing experiences.

Our goal was to turn Feel Festival into an incomparable and enchanting place by surprising our guests with hidden and unexpected attractions. The stages and premises were designed and decorated with attention to detail.

A chairoplane, a cinema and a selfmade water slide in to the lake turned the festival into a world of its own. Installations and input by our talented crews, collectives and artists made the area a charming place.

Workshops and lectures in the Baumschule or at the stunning beautiful sight of the beach made it possible to rest your feet without hanging in your tent. Like every year we try to afford fun and mind-expanding entertainment other than sound from the woofers. Where else can you start your day with beach yoga, participate in musical meditation and sound healing or just weigh in to a discussion in the afternoon. Drawing classes and workshops in creative writing were the playground for your own creativity.

Staging a big festival like this always has challengers. In the aftermath we received many complaints about the water management on the premises, the toilet situation, misunderstandings concerning car passes or just general lack of communication. We totally except all criticism and will try to live up to your suggestions.

Five days full of music, dancing and culture for more than 20,000 visitors partially brought us to our limits, we are growing with every experience and are certain that every Feel Festival will become better and better.

Our fundamental aim at Feel Festival is to create a safe and respectful environment. Open minded, welcoming for people of all color, gender or sex to take home memories of a great weekend.

We would like to thank every participant, helping hand, and visitor for making Feel Festival 2017 happen. We couldn’t have done it without you. We are looking forward to Feel Festival 2018.
